Paint lets you add text and flood large areas with color — two tools beginners often overlook.
Click the Text tool, drag a text box on the canvas, and type. Font, size, and color appear in the Ribbon the moment you start typing.
The Fill tool floods a connected area of one color with a new color — clicking inside a shape's outline fills just that shape.
The most common Paint mistake
A gap in a shape's outline lets the fill "leak" out and color the entire canvas, since Fill only stops where it hits a different color. Close the outline completely before filling.
The Color Picker tool copies a color directly from the canvas into Color 1 or Color 2 — useful for exactly matching a color already used somewhere else in the image instead of guessing at it on the palette.
